The foundation has been created in memory of the father and grandfather of members of the founding team. Hemraj Goyal arrived in the UK from India forty years ago with the vision of a better life for his family.

This vision, as well as his hard work and determination, has inspired not only his children but his grandchildren, friends and extended family to have boundless ambition. The growth of the foundation since 2010 has led to HGF being an established and recognised charity.

“Over that time we have seen that the Trustees of this family run foundation are motivated by true philanthropy and a passion for improving society by helping those most in need. Our partnership has achieved great success especially in the area of our FGM Appeal which raised the vital funds towards running the National FGM Centre over three years which in turn has protected and empowered hundreds of women and children affected by harmful practices, and also reached thousands of professionals working in the sector.”

“We see HGF not only as a great funder willing to invest their funds in areas that perhaps others would not like anti-trafficking work but also as a Foundation that can motivate others in the community to think about their philanthropic giving and engage with them to do so by giving their time and their resources.”
