The Hemraj Goyal Foundation has raised £1,200 for Barnardo’s Female Genital Mutilation Appeal at a fashion fundraising event hosted by London womenswear designer, Raishma.

As part of the recent event coordinated by HGF Director Anita Goyal, Raishma invited guests to view their exclusive designer wear and pop up stand Mara and Elle exquisite jewellery.

10% of transactions on the day and raffle ticket sales with a grand prize of a £250 Raishma voucher were donated to the national children’s charity’s meaningful cause.

The Hemraj Goyal Foundation’s Charity Director, Anita Goyal said: “It was a great day for women to unite in a unique shopping experience of Raishma’s fusion inspired collections of luxurious gowns, elegant cocktail dresses and beautiful resort wear.  An opportunity for Bonnie, Ayla, Avnish and I to encourage and engage women to help prevent violence against girls and women through supporting the Barnardo’s FGM appeal.”

Currently there are an estimated 60,000 girls at risk of Female Genital Mutilation in England and Wales.

The National FGM Centre aims to end new cases of FGM by 2030, by training frontline professionals to recognise risks and protect girls, create specialist social worker intervention and promote community events to raise awareness.
